About this Workshop

This virtual classroom session will assist residential care staff to identify the need for and implement the behaviour support plan. Participants will be given an overview of the ABC approach when changed behaviours occur and information on restricting the use of psychotropic medication.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

Identify changed behaviour and circumstances using the ABC approach.
Develop an appropriate Behaviour Support Plan for a person experiencing changed behaviour.
Ensure chemical restraints are used only as a last resort after all other best practice behaviour supports have failed.
Develop an appropriate antipsychotic withdrawal plan.
