A new online course has been launched to help health and aged care workers deliver inclusive care and services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people with dementia.

The e-learning course is delivered by Dementia Training Australia and includes four learning modules. These modules explore:

  • the range of sexual diversity within the Australian population
  • the lived experiences of LGBTI people
  • key considerations for care of older LGBTI people with dementia
  • how organisations can become more LGBTI inclusive.

The free course, which begins next month, aims to increase the awareness of strategies organisations can use to become more inclusive and the resources available to providers.
