Responsive behaviours (formerly known as BPSD) are common in residential aged care and health care facilities.
DTA provides training and resources to assist staff to understand the causes of responsive behaviours and to find ways to avoid or reduce them.
This service is available as part of a Tailored Training Package and can complement the service provided by Dementia Support Australia (DSA) by providing additional training aimed at bringing about facility wide changes in practice. Ideally it is used by organisations who wish to avoid the need to call on DBMAS by ensuring that their staff are trained to provide care in a way that meets the spoken and unspoken needs of residents.
