Guest Lecture – Wednesday 23 August 2017
Professor Christine Kovach
This presentation will provide an overview of assessment and treatment of pain and discomfort in cognitively impaired adults is challenging because verbal reports of pain are often unreliable or unobtainable.
The Serial Trial Intervention (STI), described in this presentation, is designed to more accurately assess and treat both physical pain and affective discomfort in people with dementia who are no longer able to clearly or consistently verbalise needs.
